Standout Beauty + Global Orphanage
What started out as a volunteer trip to Africa, has now changed to the heart and soul of our company- Standout Beauty.
The relationship I have built with the children of Global Orphanage in Arusha, Tanzania started back in 2016 during my second volunteer trip to Africa! I was 23 years old at the time and could’nt wait to be back to the place that felt like home.
Ever since I was a child, I always dreamed of going to Africa and being able to help and support the children that did not have the same opportunities and luxuries that we are so fortunate to have here in Canada. I made it my mission that after graduating high-school, I would save up my earnings & raise funds to volunteer my time with the children that needed us most… and so I packed up my belongings with not a plan in sight but it felt right!
It has been almost 6 years since the last time I have seen the children in person! Luckily with technology I am so fortunate to receive biweekly updated from the founder with life updates and videos of the kids!
Over the last 5 years, Standout Beauty has been donating funds monthly to help the cover the cost of school fees, food, water, healthcare bills, clothing and Christmas Celebrations <3
Sadly, the Orphanage is only able to stay operate with the help from the local church community and donations from volunteers. After the pandemic hit there was a large decrease in volunteers which lead to lack of funding for the kids to go to school as schooling is not free anyone in their country. (Which really makes me reflect on the luxuries we take for granted here)
Knowing that I wouldn’t be able to visit for a little while, I still wanted to be able to support without physically being there!
With the help of everyone who has supported our small business whether you are purchasing a Brow Pencil or coming in for a service, you have generously made an impact for the children and their future!
Each month, we donate 5% of product sales to help support the children and I am so proud to announce that we have been able to support the three older boys through their first yeat of college!
Education is the most important goal for the kids in hopes to a brighter future. Our goal is to set themselves up with careers that they are passionate about and can sustain themselves for years to come as well as help the others in their villages.
If you would like to support the orphanage with their school fees for the upcoming semester, the community would be forever grateful for your support.
